International Bioenergy Days is designed to serve as both a forum for education and learning and, in this capacity, to also serve as a door opener into the U.S. for advanced Swedish bio-energy technology and know-how. In the other direction, it serves to enable American technology and know-how to find an easy way into Sweden and Swedish research, educational, and business circles.
Unlike other bio-energy conferences, which often exist solely as tradeshows and exhibitions, the International Bioenergy Days event is built on the concept of teaching about and showing successful and established projects and technology where, as participants, both experts and end users can get the opportunity to learn from each other and to actually meet – as opposed to merely providing a commercial forum for manufacturers and salespeople.
This is important. The International Bioenergy Days event works to cement contacts within a world-wide market between the planet’s leading clean tech companies, where fuels and other sources of bio-energy (and actual products associated with the bio-energy branch) can be learned about and spotlighted. The International Bioenergy Days event is arranged biennially in Sweden and biennially in the U.S., a plan first sanctioned by Ambassador Wood as well as the PFI (Pellet Fuels Institute) and the WPAC (Wood Pellet Association of Canada). During years when the International Bioenergy Days event is held in the US, afterwards ÄFAB holds a national assembly in Sweden where the most important outcomes from the U.S.-held conference can be presented.
Unlike other bio-energy conferences, often tied to fairs and exhibitions, the International Bioenergy Days event is based on promoting education and increasing learning among researchers, academics, and business people by showing successful and actually existing bio-energy projects and equipment.
